Interim CoSec Support

Just wow! Beyond Governance came in at short notice and provided us with support for our AGM at a challenging time for us. Beyond Governance over delivered in every way; they were a sounding board for me, an exceptionally safe pair of hands and a pleasure to work with.

Nothing was too much trouble, they were my eyes and ears on the ground and identified ‘pinch points’ before they became a problem; something only experts of many years can do. Most of all their support alleviated pressure points in my role enabling me to focus on other pressing matters.

We would happily work with the Beyond Governance team again; a truly exceptional team of governance professionals who know the technical and human aspects of governance like the back of their hand!

The team at Beyond Governance conducted a Board evaluation and worked with the Vice-Chair on chair appraisal. The outcome of these enabled further, board-led, improvements. For example, a new training programme was introduced, strategy conversations were elevated and amplified, and the quality of board and management interactions deepened resulting in enhanced challenge; we have a much stronger team dynamic as a result.

The board and I would not hesitate to recommend Beyond Governance for a thorough, sensitive review which supports our future plans.

From the start Beyond Governance’s recommendations enabled governance to begin to flow again and decision-making became easier to a level we did not appreciate was possible. Streamlined board and committee papers and packs make meetings more productive and succinct.

We now have forward planners embedded in our processes, giving clearer visibility on future activities and agenda planning. As a result of the recommendations and implementation Beyond Governance brought, we have transformed our ways of working, opened my eyes to what is possible (I can’t believe we didn’t do this years ago) and brought clarity and efficiently to our board and governance practices.

The work Beyond Governance did for us was transformational. They supported on strategic governance projects and ran the business as usual with a level of skill that required no oversight. Their work has singlehandedly taken our governance function to the next level. The board, management team and I are so grateful for what they have helped us achieve.

Beyond Governance arrived two days before the quarterly Board Meeting (we had a gap in recruitment and needed someone in quickly) and they took the whole process in their stride. The team were reassuring, subject-matter experts, as well as friendly, approachable and supportive people to have ‘at the table’.

The team are knowledgeable, experienced and deliver governance advisory support that truly aligns with our business operations. The team brings new perspectives, they have supported us through a period of board and management change, and most importantly strengthen and uplifted our governance framework.

We seriously considered using the Big 4 for our governance framework but when we saw what Beyond Governance offered and how quickly they understood our business and culture we were convinced; we have not been disappointed.
