Governance Projects

Having had experience of working in many different sectors and types of organisation, John has been able to apply this knowledge to support a high profile public inquiry.  Working with a government department has brought him into contact with new processes, cultures and challenges.  This is a unique opportunity for a governance professional.

John has also supported several organisations streamline governance structures with a particular focus on reducing the amount of time senior leaders spend in meetings.

Corporate Reporting

John has been involved in the preparation of numerous annual reports, providing narrative content, best practice reviews and the incorporation of proxy voting agency recommendations for FTSE-250 and AIM listed companies.  He has also edited and project managed the process and due to his exposure to, and support of, many Audit Committees, he is acutely aware of the importance of the annual report.  Despite the abundance of social media channels and methods of communication, the annual report remains the “go to” source of information about an organisation and as such, the content and presentation requires careful thought.

Governance Gap Analysis

SMEs and private companies looking to grow and attract external investment need to ensure that their record keeping and governance arrangements are up to date, fit for purpose and able to withstand third party scrutiny.  John has helped several companies take stock and prepare for the next phase in their development by providing clear, understandable, practical and appropriate solutions to the governance challenges they face.

CoSec On-Demand

John’s lengthy and varied experience mean that he has become accustomed to getting comfortable in sometimes uncomfortable situations.  By taking a pragmatic approach, John is able to keep calm and help departments under pressure continue to deliver on their priorities.  Being fluent in the language of the board room means that John is able to support the decision makers without needing detailed information or lengthy preparation time.  This invaluable when organisations need help.
