Board Oversight of AI and Technology, Built for Provision 29 and Beyond

AI deployment is now a board-level issue. Provision 29 applies to financial years from 1 January 2026, with first declarations due in early 2027. We help boards build the oversight they will need to report on.

AI is embedded in operations faster than most boards can oversee it. Provision 29 of the UK Corporate Governance Code now requires listed boards to make a declaration on the effectiveness of their risk management and internal control frameworks, including those covering technology and AI.

Most boards do not yet have the structures, reporting or director fluency needed to make that declaration with confidence. First declarations are due in early 2027. The time to build is now.
