Our client, a privately run membership organisation, requested a document which could be provided to members setting out the behaviours expected of them. It was intended that this code of conduct would enable the organisation to hold members to account for behaviours not in keeping with their required standards.
We began by reviewing the organisations constitutional documents to identify the rules already set out in writing for members and considered the standards of behaviour that could be reasonably expected of members.
We produced a one-page Members Code of Conduct which the organisation could provide to all members to ensure awareness and compliance with the expected standards of behaviour.
The CEO of the membership organisation felt that the new Code provided an excellent guide on which their members could base their conduct.
